    Children in Need

    Special Instructions for these events

Please read them carefully! The generic regulations and things like that still apply in most instances, it is only that these are special ones just for this event!

If you could send me a cheque for the organiser pack, payable to A & J Enterprises to:
    The Old Railway Station
    Long Melford
    Sudbury, Suffolk C010 9HN
as soon as you get the organiser pack, I would be grateful – that way I can pay the printer and the post office ! That covers all the costs of running the event - printing, paper, postage, envelopes, master points etc.

You will find a payment slip inside the organiser pack to return with this payment.

After the event, all the cheques for the "entry fees" and donations should be payable to ECatsBridge Charity a/c – Barclays have set this up a) to keep all the CiN stuff separate and b) so we are not charged which is nice of them! All the money you raise “on the night” will go to Children in Need.

    What to charge ?

It is entirely up to you ...
... what you charge the participants. We are hoping that a lot of clubs will agree to pay the cost of the pack, and pass all the “entry fees” on for Children in Need, but whatever way you choose to do it is fine by us. It has been suggested that £2.80 is the “normal” fee for a Sim Pairs, so it might be nice if people gave that, but if you feel that is too much that is fine - and if they want to give more as it is such a good cause, that would be brilliant. The more the merrier as they say. And any fund raising you can do “on the side” to add a bit to the coffers would be excellent - perhaps a raffle ? Or click here for some fund raising ideas

What to do after the event. Well, first of all, please email me ( anna@ecats.co.uk ) and tell me how much you have raised for Children in Need so that I can keep the total on the website up to date and show the world how wonderful bridge players are to raise lots of lovely money for Charity. Please do this AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after the end of play.

Then on the Friday (17 November), if we go to the Children in Need TV Gala thingy, we can take an enORMous cheque and the world will know how wonderful you all are!

Next, if you are scoring this yourselves, please do so and upload. Julia, who keys in any travellers that are sent to us for BGB events, has very generously said that she will key in travellers that are sent in free of charge, but I don't want to ask her to do too many so if you can manage to score it yourselves we would be grateful.

And finally you need to send me the cheque for the charity . please make it payable to ECatsBridge Charity a/c - please use the form to send it back with (it is on the back of the address sheet) so we know which club you are and get it off to us as soon as possible so that I can get everything gathered together and sent off to Children in Need. DO NOT INCLUDE THE COST OF THE PACK WITH THIS CHEQUE - I need that to be separate especially as they are going into different accounts.

As soon as it is all finalised, I will send you your club results and master points.

Ideas for extra fund raising are here – or you can go to www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey where you can register for a pack with posters. Please help us to raise as much money as we can for Children in Need!

And I have just a line or two here to thank the many people who have given their time free of charge, and generally helped us to keep the costs to an absolute minimum. And thank you, my friends, you wonderful heat organisers for “coming on board” and joining us to make this what we believe will be a very successful event. You are the greatest! But let's not forget the players - the ones who make it all happen ... we hope you will join us in droves and enjoy the event

    Love to you all
