Regulations regarding the age of Senior Players

Follwing a meeting held in Shanghai, the following amendment was agreed:

For 2008 only, the senior age will remain at 58; for 2009 it will advance to 59 and for 2010 to 60.

Thus for the 2009 Seniors Bowl in Brazil, players must reach the age of 59 during the calendar year 2009 (i.e. before 31 December 2009)

At the Meeting of the WBF Executive Council held in Monaco, November 2003, the following resolution was passed:

That the age of eligibility for WBF Seniors events be raised from 55 to 60 over the period of five years starting with 56 in 2005, 57 in 2006, 58 in 2007, 59 in 2008 and 60 in 2009 and thereafter.

The player must be (or attain) the required age during the calendar year of the Championship.
