The WBF Women's Committee was formed by the WBF President, José Damiani in 1999, and is chaired by Anna Maria Torlontano of Italy.

The aims of the Committee are to promote and develop women's bridge world wide, as well as to encourage all Federations to appoint women to adminstrative positions within their organisations in accordance with the aims of the International Olympic Committee.
