The Committee's work includes the following:
Defining a policy which takes into account the
need to make Bridge more accessible to Women.
Increasing the number of the Women bridge players
by organizing more competitions specifically for them (teams,
pairs and individual).
Concentrating their efforts to increase the
number of teams participating in the European and World Championships,
possibly by increasing the budget allocated to the development
of this aspect of the sport, maybe transferring some of the
funds assigned to the participation of men in the Open Pairs
and Teams Championships, to the Women's Pairs and Teams.
Establishing new events for Women where these
are not already available - in this regard we are looking at
ways of organising a championship just for girls (school and
college age groups).
Giving the Women the satisfaction of a very good
teacher who can run special training sessions to improve the
quality of their Bridge.
Giving the Women the opportunity of following
courses as Tournament Directors and as Bridge Teachers.
Giving the Women who are well known amongst their
peer group for their organisational and management skills ,
their talents, their attitude, the right role in the administration
and management of their Federation. These Women can be the
right people to develop Women's Bridge in their own country.
Appointing (and this is very important) a WOMAN to
be responsible only for Women's Bridge in their Country, preferably
a woman who is a Member of the Federation Board. |
